    new vehicle STi or WRX

okay guys iam looking to see wich trim level iam looking for the wrx model is better for the dollar performance wise and curb weight for power/weigfht ratio i would like the hatch back fog lamps and would like 18" wheels wither factory of aftermarket and would like to go with 300HP wheel but would like to know is the STi worth the 35K or would i be better to get a wrx and do mods to get to 300 wheel HP and if so what mods would i have to do to the STi and WRX to get to those numbers?

If you believe what Cobb claims on their maps, you can make near 300 HP and 300 Tq with factory hardware with one of their tunes on the WRX.

    WRX Invoice - 2% + $700 = under $24K

Sorry guys, I'm new to the Subaru world, so maybe this is a dumb question, but the older WRX motors were different between the STI and the WRX, it looks like the new ones are the same overall motor but just detuned or something. Is the cobb stuff emisions legal in Cali?
