Swapping 06 TR seats for XX STI seats

I'm swapping interiors TONIGHT for STI seats.

The year of the seats is unknown.

I want to keep the full function of the weight sensitive passenger side airbags. If his STI seats are 04-05, does anyone know what is required? Can the electronics be swapped over?

Just FYI..... the thread on NASIOC is garbage. I appreciate the reference, but it's WRONG.

Installing resistors to defeat the airbag light??

Cutting wires??

peeling up the skins to remove the airbags???

Crap..... all of it...... crap.

The "airbags" are all the same..... as are the plugs. The differences are in the wiring harnesses, and the control module, and the water-filled bladder under the passenger seat.

The STI seats are either 04 or 05......Everything can be (and was) swapped over. The easiest way to do it was just to swap the rails over from my seats to the STI seats... that way all of the witing harnesses come with them (they are all attached)

The control module under the pass seat had 2 rivets that had to be drilled... took about 30 seconds.... and then they just came on over with the rest of the wiring harness.

The water-filled bladder was a bit of a PITA to remove from my old seats... but it came out with some effort.... maybe 20 minutes.

The ONLY thing that actually STAYED in each of the respective seats, were the actual airbags themselves..... they plugged right in to the swapped over wiring harnesses... everything else was swapped over.

ops check 100% perfect..... airbag light comes on to do it's "check" when I first start the car.... then turns off as it should. Pass side airbag reads "off" when the seat is empty, and "on" when someone is sitting in it.

The entire seat swap... including teardown and reinstallation of seats in both cars took..... maybe 2.5 hours. Piece of cake.
