I would hope to recoup my costs, but would be willing to take a hit. It was my fault for not exploring all options before ordering them!

Where are you located? Other members have shown interest, but it seems as if shipping may be prohibitive...

Regina, eh? The only two things I remember about that place are: If your dog runs away, you can watch him for 7 miles, and the casino!

Seems a bit far to ship $35 worth of plastic?

Went to the stereo shop and finally picked everything out today! I am still undecided on the sail panels vs door mounting though. After driving around a bit, it seems as if the tweeter may be obscured by my left knee. Decisions, decisions...

    Focal Access 130 A1
    JL Audio 10w3
Focal 4x100 (powering components and bridged to the sub)

Install will happen all day Saturday, hopefully I'll have some in-progress pics as well as post-install!

If you're not planning to compete or anything, the sail panels are still not a bad place to put the tweets. Yes, technically they should be closer to the woofer, but as was already said, they can be adjusted to be staged properly. Plus you won't have additional holes in your interior if you decide to eventually sell the car without the stereo. That install is pretty sweet though, binjoau.

This is a good point, I am talking in a perfect world. Replacing sail panels is a lot easier than replacing door panels if you decide to sell the car and keep the audio.
Oh and thanks!! lots of time and work has gone into my system and im super happy with the results!

Haha, I already put a deposit down at the shop. Plus, you live so far away (from everything )! BTW, your picture looks a lot more like the Regina that I remember.

Since I'm going for the focal speakers afterall, I think I'll do the sail panels as they are worth keeping!

Sorry to prematurely ask if anyone wanted to buy them!

I finally picked up the sail panels from the parts shop today. The part numbers and description are as follows:

94251FG060 : COVER GUSSET DOOR RH
94251FG070 : COVER GUSSET DOOR LH

My receipt shows them "listed" at $16.56, with no up-charge to me.

Sorry, I decided to use the sail panels afterall. While driving around, I noticed that my left knee frequently hangs out by the door which would obstruct the tweeter if it were installed there. I'm also getting Focal speakers, which I'll probably want to yank out of the car when I sell it and the sail panels make it easier to remove them.

Dropped the car off at the shop this morning.

It's raining here, but I will try and post some photos of the new gear once it's all done!

Question What Size Tweeters are these?

That is the worst place for optimal sound staging. Any manufacturer you talk to will tell you a tweeter should be within 6-8" of the woofer for optimal sound. The problem is having the driver and tweeter so far apart means all the treble reaches your ears before the bass does.

This actually confuses your brain as you are trying to prosses 2 different sounds and put them together. I have worked in car audio for many years and the sail panels is in no way a good place for a tweeter. This is why a lot of aftermarket companies make kickpanel mounts for component systems.

in my 09 WRX we have mounted the tweeter in the small angled part above the driver and it offers great sound staging. There is also lots of room to mount a crossover inside the door panel.

They look like JL audio either 1/2 or 3/4 inchers. I have a pair of Polk DB 1001 which I am going to have installed either here (if possible) or in the Sail Panels. I saw a write up that said 1 inch infinity reference tweets will fit in the stock locations with a little trimming/Glue work.
