    Headlight problems

Hi guys, this is my first post here and I'm also a first time Subaru owner as well. I recently bought a 2004 sti and the previous owner told me that the hid lights were not working. When I got home I took a better look under the hood and found out that the plugs from the car and the headlights were not compatible. Does someone know if the plugs from a 2005 are the same as the 2004 headlight plugs? In the mean time I've been running with my regular high beams but I want to fix this problem.

Yeah that is what I was dreading but I guess i wiil have to take it to the stealership so they can take a look at it. The guy who used to own the car also changed the Brembo calipers up front for some ugly gray calipers and the alarm is not chirping as it should when you activate it so there must be something wrong with it too. I just hope its not something to expensive to fix. Thanks for your replies.

The alarm chirping is because the beeper it's self isn't water tight. Read that thread. There's a fix for it on there.

So I spoke to someone at the stealership and they told me that it could be possible that I had non hid wrx headlights so when I came home from work I took a closer look at the headlights and.... Surprise... Surprise!! The previous owner changed de sti hid headlights for wrx non hid headlights and I saw that the headligt had something written on it that said H3 and H1 so I'm screwed. Does anyone here know how to get a pair of these original headlights without having to sell any of my internal organs? And also, how much do you think I could get for the regular non hid headlights? Or, can I get the same lighting and reliability by installing an aftermarket hid kit on my existing headlights?

    HIDs are costly...

Honestly I'd think about getting the HID conversion from lightwerkz. He's incredible, and it'll be cheaper than getting the OEM HIDs.

Yeah, I saw a pair of used ones on ebay for 750.00 :confused
It will be a shame that I cant use my electric light adjusting thingy that the sti has to change the direction of the beams, but what the heck. Oh, thanks Sinister, for the post on that other website about the buzzer, I will take a look at that later, and see if that is my problem. I have also noticed that the little yellow blinkers dont blink when I lock or open the car, could that be fixed with the beeper itself. Thanks

Yes They do. I see that the FOB has some instructions on the back of it but they are all blurry and I can't make them out. I have pressed both buttons at the same time and the lights would blink, also I have pressed the panic button and it works too.

I can't remember off the top of my head. Search Nasioc.com. Or better yet... stop by your subaru dealership. They won't care if you're in or out of warranty. It's part of their big customer service push. They'd "love" to help teach you something about your car. They really will. Just tell them that you put your car in valet mode, and forgot how to put it back.
