    Subs

Hey, I am looking to fix the main flaw in design (IMO) on the 09 WRX, the audio system. The speakers are HORRIBLE. I am looking to replace the factory speakers, and I would like to sneak a sub or two somewhere to give the music some tone, but I'm not going for window rattling bass like I had in my Scion.

I remember seeing a sub that fits under the driver's seat in the Subaru Accessories Guide... a few questions on that:

    1. Do they fit under the passenger seat also?
    2. Do car audio shops carry some of maybe better quality for a more fair price (instead of dealership price)
    3. Does anyone have a good idea of a place to conceal the amp the subs hook up to?

The subs I had in my Scion took up my whole "trunk" area, I had to put groceries in the seating area. I want to keep space in the car to a maximum, so any ideas on good places to stick subs/amps will be of help.

Any information you may have, even if not directly related to my questions, as long as they are on the same subject of sound systems will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Also: I have two sets of MTX 6" speakers, does anyone know the speaker dimensions for the 09's?

I had one of the factory subs and IMO they suck. If i was in your situation i would look at a single 10 or 12" sub in a small sealed enclosure. Im not sure if audio integrations has a box for the 09's but a little web search should tell ya that
if thats a little more then you want to spend you can find a nice small box or even build one yourself. As far as hiding the amp Alpine has some pretty sweet amps that are small and powerfull and can easily go under the front seat.

I have a single 10" Kicker L7 in a ported box in my 09 mREX sedan and it hits like the bejesus, so that might be too much bass for you. I would go for a 10" sub in a sealed enclosure if you don't want window shaking bass.

I mounted both of my amps under the front seats and it was pretty clean and easy.

nice, i was thinking about cutting my loss and just sticking a small 10" box in the back on the side or something. i'd hate to give up the space, but i need some bass, the stock sound is driving me insane. I usually drive with the stereo off just so i can listen to my car instead of flat music. haha
