Do the STi and WRX use the same shift boot or are they different?

I'm asking cuz i was on a site that asks if i want the STi shift boot with 6spd in parenthesis, so i wanted to know if that makes a difference.

the only thing i can think of is the sti shiftboot(04-07 at least) has a snap on the top to go around the reverse lockout where the wrx boot has a plastic ring that screws onto the shiftknob

My friend has an 02 WRX with the STI shift boot on it, whoever installed it just yanked out the old boot and screwed the STI one directly into the console.
