    My "green" interior

I'm jumping on the "environmentally friendly automotive interior" bandwagon (it's a lonely wagon, but soon, everybody will be doing it!) Yeah, probably not.

Anyway, long story short, I had to rip out the custom stereo and upholstery I had done several years ago because a fuel pump wire shorted out. Stupid me for burying the fuel pump under fiberglass sub enclosures. But since my car was in the shop, I figured I might as well make it an STi, so lots of money later, I have an 03 wagon beast, tuned to run on ethanol, and just happened to have some extra bamboo flooring laying around...

Obviously still a work in progress. The rear seat is gone for good and will be replaced by a carpeted platform (need a place for groceries that won't scratch the bamboo!) and I might build the platform into an amp rack of sorts. The enclosures are almost done, and will hold 2 10" Image Dynamics IDQ subs.

Bring on the: "OMG, just add a disco ball and you could have a midget breakdance party in there!" (FYI, the dome light disco ball is currently out of stock.)
    sammAy!

It's actually leftover from my kitchen, and it's real, solid plank bamboo.. 5/8" thick, tongue and groove. Could be sanded and refinished if necessary!

    Very cool.

I'd say it gives me a woody, but bamboo is not actually wood.

Just a tad. Although, the OEM rear seat was surprisingly heavy (the backs, not the foam bench). I was weighing everything I took out & put back in at one point, I'll have to find the numbers. But I'm pretty sure the weight of the seat backs just about offset the weight of the bamboo plus the sub-floor I put down. Sound deadening and subs/enclosures are another story..

    It gives you a grassy?

Hmm.. I have a feeling that a "grassy" is something found at the Urban Dictionary that I'd rather not know about.
