ive seen some threads on how to change the colors of the gauge cluster. but does anyone know where to get the bulb condoms for the lights? and what exact color to get to match the STI. (pink or red) ha <not sure if the red will fade to the STI color or if there is a pink that works> well if anyone can help me out it will be much appreciated.

    Switch to LED's

hey i am not sure where you can get the condoms for them but i would recommend switching to LED lights way brighter and takes less power.. you can get them at superbrightleds.com they have 5 different colors i think.. the led size you want is 94. you can either get a wedge led or get the led built in with the plastic piece that holds the bulb in there.. and there not very expensive at all! i got 10 Red leds (i am hoping that they are gonna look like the STI lights) for only $20.i should be getting them here pretty soon. when i do and put them in i will post some pictures.. but you also go to sand down the plastic sheet that has the numbers and everything on it cause it has a green film on there..

    02Subaru LED light switch

alright here is a picture of my new lights i just got and put on my suby.. the original color was the stock green. i had to sand the back of the plastic sheet that has all the numbers and markings on it. a total of 8 LED lights will work for the dash and the Air control unit.. i took the pic with me IPhone. but it looks alot better in person!!

    94 or 74

    Was that 94 or 74?

I tried the "condom" technique a few years back but, the "condoms" kept popping off and didn't provide a true red glow.

The T 1.5R LEDs with base look like a nice solution esp. for ~$1.79 each.

    Thanks!

it should be 94. The T1.5 is prefect that's what I got and I like them alot. And all u got to do is twist them right in.

The dash looks good, I'm thinking of doing this too. So is there just a thin film of green plastic or tint on the back of the gauges? What grit of sandpaper did you use?

I think I used 200 and then I used some oops or goof off to clean it up. I sanded the whole back of the plastc gauge thing.

    Film over Speedometer

Did the green film cover the entire back of the cluster or just the odometer? I'm thinking of just changing the color of the the speedometer the RPM's and the gas. Was it a fairly easy process to get the LED's in? or did you have to change each socket to get the LED's to stay in?

the green film covered the entire back of it. there also was a small plastic green piece that is in between where it tells you your miles on your car. you just have to pull the one side that doesnt have all the connectors on it up and slide out the piece. its not glued or anything it just sits in there. but thats if you want that area to change color as well..

Excellent! Thanks! I'll order them and look into a cabin air filter. Just found out how simple it is to add one...
The '02s have the filter compartment but, Subaru didn't install a filter.
