The head-unit is awesome, customizable up the wazoo, with navigation (Pioneer's iGo, though you can use any Garmin or TomTom if you want to mess with Windows CE a bit which the unit runs), a Bluetooth mic that's hidden by the rear-view mirror etc, voice recognition for calling people and playing artists/albums etc. And with the PAC module it interfaces with the steering wheel controls. And yes, that's a custom boot-up screen in the last picture. I really like that it has an iPod hookup and it shows the cover art etc for every album. W00t!

Also, there's a back-up camera addition you can get for the device if you want to spend a bit more to get the accessory.

Does anyone know if you install the Pioneer Avic F700BT in a 2006 STi if you cab use the Magden computer on it to setup gauges?

im thinking to put one of these in my 02 wrx(Pioneer AVIC-F700BT). will they fit perfectly without anything modifications?

Not sure about the older cars, I got a install kit for mine (have same head unit) .. but there's more than enough depth, width and height for it to fit. If the older double din opening is the same size as the face of the head unit it should go right in there without any mods. Might even be able to use the factory brackets. Someone with a bug-eye will have to speak up to definitely nail it down though.

As for the computer and setting up the gauges.. how well can you write code for windows ce? ... Unless there is some sort of av output you can feed into an input on the deck.. you'll need to hack it to display that information.

yep same link I posted, but not much data on what inputs outputs the units have. They're not producing any more until the next generation is ready to roll.. so.. in the meantime.. looks like we're ass out unless something is found on ebay.

I saw the pic from that other forum and the person has windows, does anyone know how to do that? or a post showing it?
