little late to your postjust installed mine over the weekend, very easy install- wiring is all plug/play
comes in both blue and red
red matches the 09 WRX interior nicely
poor pic, but gives you the general gist

This is a discussion on Footwell Illumination Kit within the Interior Mods forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; I just purchased an 09 WRX 5-door and I'm picking up a few accesories from some subaru geniune parts dealers ...
I just purchased an 09 WRX 5-door and I'm picking up a few accesories from some subaru geniune parts dealers (cargo net, floor mats, etc)
I ordered some stuff from 5-stareperformance.com and while looking through there parts I saw these.
Subaru Impreza Footwell Illumination Kit
SKU: H201SSC000
I can't post links yet since I'm still new to this forum but if you search for the sku you'll see the part I'm talking about
Are these a new accessory that Subaru is coming out with for the 09 Impreza? From what I can tell this is an SOA part, but I didn't find anything else about it online (Like how to install it on a WRX)
Does anyone know about this part and what is required to install it?

classy, the double-din from the factory is nice too
Is this on while the car is running? Or is it only for entry and exit? The dealer led me to believe it is only for entry/exit... which I thought was dumb.
on when the lights are on- very subtle lighting, but very cool IMO![]()

Thats what I thought, but the guy at the dealership goes "of course they are not on while driving, that would be a distraction". Looks awesome, I will prolly pick some up.
Is the install super easy for the wrx? It looks like they have the wiring set up for something down there already, but I was not sure if thats what it was for. I figured I would ask since the spt exhaust installation directions were nonexistent, not that they are really needed.
Does it also change the color from blue to red in the storage area between the footwells?
pretty easy- everything is plug and play- no wiring, you do have to remove a few dash pieces (to make it easier to access)
no- but there is a replacement for that console light- it's the oe STi one (red)- I'd recommend doing that at the same time as they share part of the same harness

That's cool Subaru has Footwell Illumination Kits.
It's amazing all the things you can get for your car now a days.

I see the photo below with the blue dash lights; can the 2009 WRX dash lights color be changed from red to blue and if so what is involved?
