wiring cigarette outlet

when i bought my car it didn't have a cigarette outlet so i went and bought one and i don't know how to wire it. where does the power wire go to. and is there anything else i need to know.

The best way is to use an "add a fuse" and wire the cigarette lighter to that add a fuse. This will give you a fuse on the circuit and you won't have to splice into wires, which is always kinda messy. Then all you have to do is ground the common to the car chassis.
