    Will a 05 WRX accessport, once unmarried, work on a 02 WRX?

    Yes, but only if its a V2 accessport, and only if comes with the right connector piece for that cable under your dash. (it comes with two when its new, so make sure both are there)

    Version 1 will NOT work as far as i know...

    correct. But, don't worry about whether or not the "connector piece for that cable under your dash" is there or not. You can buy a new Initialization ("init") Connector here for peanuts.
