    Disable Door ChimeTutorial

I hate the "ding, ding, ding..." when the door's open. Here's the tutorial to how to remove it. 10 minute job for a life in silence.

First, remove the three bolts on the underdash, (one by the hood latch, one on the right side of the piece, and one on the left end of the piece up higher).

The piece will be held on top by clips. You'll need to pull gently straight out with the TOP. If you pull outward from the bottom, the piece will rotate upwards and break the clips. Wedge a screwdriver or your fingers under the top part and pull towards the back of the car. There are some clips on each side so take your time and don't break it.

Once the clips are off, the piece can just hang or lay there, no need to unplug the wires connected to it.

On the far right, level with the ashtray, there is a white connector with two green wires and two black wires coming from it (see picture).

The green wires go to the LED keyring, while the black wires are for the door chime. Disconnect the black wire with the white stripe (ground wire) to stop the chime.

Put everything back together and open the door...Hear that? No? Thank god.
