I have a 03 WRX that doesn't like me. My problem is that the snap ring on the bottem of the shifter ball cup keeps popping off. I have had it replaced several times and it still comes off. I am not shifting hard at all when this happens and I have had Subaru look at it and put new parts on, but it keeps happening. Is there anything that I can do to make this stop? It is quite annoying, going down the road and having to stop to put the shifter back in the cup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jeff

Yes it is a plastic cup but it is brand new. I had them put in a new cup when they put the snap ring on, and it still comes off. Is there another kind of cup that I can get that could possibly eliminate this problem?
not that I'm aware of..
IS it stock shifter? Aftermarket/short-shift?
