07 HVAC Light Mod - roadblock

I took apart the HVAC to do the light mod and found that the knob's front plate is fused with a green plastic which lends it its color. Behind this plate was just an arcylic(?) arc with a regular light source. Are there other HVAC knobs that will fit on 07 STI Ltd. that do not have this?

I'm not quite sure if they make knobs for it.. but you can always check to see if you can find a different plastic piece that fits that is the color you want.. and or make your own.. just a thought.
