    Running AMP cable to rear of 08 WRX hatch

    Looking to mount an amp in the hatch. I was looking to run the power cable through the drivers side firewall and looks kinda hard on this side.
    Just wanted some opinons on where to route the cables. Here are my choices.

    1. Route the cable underneigh the car. ( I have access to lift)
    2. Run cables through the passenger firewall.
    3. Be brave and figure a way to run the cables though the drivers side firewall.


    BTW, I am looking to run 8 guage cables.

    DEFINITELY NO. No way, no how. Extremely bad news, dude.

    2. Run cables through the passenger firewall.
    Yes.

    You don't really want high-current cabling running through the already-clustered drivers-side dash area.

    I have 8 gage wire running from battery, through drivers side firewall, down the drivers side of the car and to the trunk. No problems.

    Okay, Passenger side looks most promissing to me too. I will poke around to see what is behind the firewall and behind the glovebox tonight. I will try to take pictues to document this too.

    Hey I just installed an amp in my 07 WRX and i ran it down the passenger side, Was easy as cake and I used 4 gauge

    Plac just posted a video like a week ago on how he ran a power cable in an 07. I really doubt it would be that much different, and the spot on the drivers side of the firewall that he used is probably still there if I had to guess. I could be totally wrong.
