Amp questions?

Does it make any sense to buy an amp for after market components and 2 ways in the doors while keeping the stock head unit?
I just really dont want to change the appearance of the car and dont want a new head unit.

i've never messed with an amp before.
installed a sub in my old car but it was an infinity bass link so it had a built in amp.

also where would the best place to mount a speaker only amp be? like under the passenger seat??

my amp is under the driver seat, and yes, it makes perfectly good sense with the right component system. if you have a good quality component system, then you need something to power it to the limits. the stock speakers are not that good, so adding too much power will just blow them. if you need help picking out the proper amp for you speakers let me know.

yeah. i mean nothings final... i havent bought anything...
but looking towards 6.5" Polk (MOMO) Components in front
and just some general Polk 5.25" 2 ways in back.
fronts have an RMS of 10-125
backs 4-45 i think..

would something simple like an Alpine 40W x4 work?

and this is all with the stock head unit.

not sure on installing the infinity bass link from my last car or not.
i dont know if i want a sub anymore or not.

well how much are you willing to spend in total on the speakers and amp?

500 something wouldnt be bad.
i mean its flexible... but i'd prefer not to throw money at it. doesnt need to win competitions... just a well balanced sound.
