What is a good brand for a radar detector? that isn't to expensive?
I've got a $100 Cobra that works like crap. I've heard that the 300-400$$ Passport detectors work good.

The midrange Beltronics units offer the best price to performance and in most cases meet the needs of typical users. Plan to pay above $150 but you don't have to pay $300.

Anyone have any luck with any of the new GPS enabled detectors? Also, what about the $200 Radio Shack Bell that got really high marks in the 2005 MotorTrend review? Sorry for bringing back a dead thread to life..
so i followed everyones advice, btw, and got a V1...i got it on ebay for 250 I was a bit concerned at first because of the price but it had a warranty on it. and like dude below its amazing....its seriously saved me atleast 10 times in the month i've had it. Every time it goes off im surprised at the accuracy and distance it reads at :P thanks guys!!!! +1![]()
