saab 92x parts???

i'm stealing this quote from wrxtreme06 on the "dumbest questions" thread because i'm curious and didn't want to go too ot on that thread...

thats not that crazy. there are "saabaru's" which is based off of the wagon platform

at the end of the posted link they mentioned that subaru enthusiasts liked the idea of being able to swap out parts with the saab. they didn't mention if that was even a possibility though...

so... has anyone tried using any 92x parts?

It's the same chassis and motor. The steering rack and other details differ, but everything except the body and the interior are either off-the-shelf Japanese parts or can be made to fit. What parts were you interested in and where would you find them (I've seen 3 or 4 9-2Xs in car-crazy SoCal, the car was a sales fiasco as far as I can tell).

just satisfying my curiosity, though from what i've heard the interiors were were nicer in the saab. are electronics and hvac components similar enough that you could swap out the dash or portions there of? how do the seats compare? it would probably be more trouble than it's worth just to delete any saab badging on interior components, but again, i was just wondering if it was possible.

There are a few of those saabs in vermont... I like the look of my WRX better. The interior of the saab is almost identical to the WRX. Maybe higher quality components and leather, but 98% identical for sure.
