    Gremlins in my radio....

I was out running errands today and at first, my stock radio was working fine. When I started my car after I got back to it, I noticed the screen on my radio was blank, no sound and the tape deck was running. The tape deck gets a regular workout since that is where I run my XM through. Anyways, I tried turning the radio off, nothing. I pressed the eject button to eject the tape adapter, nothing. I pressed every button on the radio, nothing.

The tape deck continues to run when the car is off. I pulled the 15a radio fuse, and it keeps going. When I got home, I disconnected the negative battery terminal and it stopped. Whew. When I reconnected it, it the tape deck started again!!!! @$$#%@#$!!!!!

I disconnected the negative battery terminal again and have since left it disconnected for the last hour. I'm leaving for work now and will update the results when I get there, about 1 hour.

Do any of you have any ideas what could be causing this? I mean, I pulled the friggin' fuse and it kept going!!!! I'm sort of at a loss right now as to what it could be. The bright side, is maybe I have to upgrade my radio....

    Thanks in advance!

C'mon gang...no one has any ideas? I pulled the fuse in the box under the hood and that stopped the problem. However, I also no longer have a clock, interior lights, remote entry or an alarm.

    Sounds simple...your radio needs replaced.

I had gremlins in my radio once too. It would turn the volume up and down by itself, and when I tried playing Cd's it would start from the last track, and play all of them backwards. I tried bringing it in for a warranty repair, but the dealership couldn't replicate the problem. But ever since I brought it in, it has worked perfectly...knock on wood. Maybe scare it back into working order by threatening a replacement?

Well....its dead. My radio no worky. Sucks with a 30 mile one way commute. But the wife agreed to let me replace it, so I'm on the hunt for something aftermarket. I'll keep you posted with what I choose.
Shoot, maybe I'll do a tutorial or something silly.
