M12 1.25
This is a discussion on Thread pitch on shifter? within the Interior Mods forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; Whats the pitch of the thread on the shifter?...
Whats the pitch of the thread on the shifter?
Ok everyone keeps saying 12mm which is the shaft diameter but tge 1.25 is throwing me off because there is more than one and a quarter threads in an inch?
Dragging up a 4 year old thread?
Start a new thread and tell people what part you're talking about. Year, model, stock or aftermarket shifter, what is it? Your post with no details on a 4 year old thread doesn't help anybody tell you anything.....

I have a stock 05 and was trying to put a new shift knob on and was asking the thread pitch. Everyone was saying it's 12mm x 1.25 and I was thinking in standard but it's metric right?
Everything is metric this is a Japanese car. Most American car parts have been standard (i.e. metric) for years too...

12 mm diameter with a 1.25 (fine) pitch. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and grab 12 mm bolt in 1.75, 1.50 and 1.25 pitch and compare them, It will become readily apparent.
