It is not needed at all. The turbo is water/coolant and oil cooled. As long as you arent hitting full boost going into your driveway and shutting the car off you should have no problems.
I generally take the last 4-5 mins of my commute rather easy to let things cool down a bit.
If it was needed every stock 02-07 wrx with over 10k miles would have blown turbos by now.

Its preventative maintenance is all it doesn't hurt 20 seconds is all it takes

dont need it unless you have to have it. i have an FP green thats just oil cooled so i run one, yet i only have it set for 30 seconds and i just drive easy for 5 minutes when i know im going to be somewhere. i could probably not even run one and be ok.
