Just looked it up, you were right....kind of. Talking on a cell phone while driving will be prohibited as of July 1, 2008. It will be a $20 fine and $50 each subsequent violation. But it doesn't say anything about points.

I usually leave mine on my lap because people always call me... though if I'm not on it when i get out it usually ends up on the ground outside the car in that situation
in NY its a 90 dollar ticket. i had got one about 2 years ago. its been in effect for ages here.
mine usually stays in my pocket since i have a BT headset. (noo..i'm not one of those self aggrandizing ass 0's that walk around all over the place talking to themselves).

yeah I know that's why I get the cheap phones.... they all get pretty beat up... I finaly got a phone with a camera a few months ago and it already looks like crap.. and this morning I had it out at work and it fell outa my crane lol 15foot drop and it was fine hehe
