I'd really like to make sure I stop a good bit of sound. Good call on replacing the carpet, though; that would really spruce things up.

no problem, i wouldnt have thought of doing all this work but a cat pissed in my car! i removed the smell completely from the car...if i could go back and do it all over, i would have gotten an aftermarket carpet that was more stylish

not shag..but i thought maybe like a light grey color carpet or dark grey (stock color) but with a wide section of red or blue going from front to back between your feet...i guess i could describe it like taking the racing stripes off the paint job and onto the floor...one solid stripe on each side....could be a dumb idea...never seen it done though

I would think the only benefit would be to get a heavier duty carpet that is a bit thicker to combat noise in addition to the shielding. Or better yet vinyl floor sometimes im a little toooo function over form. I'd love a good diamond plate vinyl floor in my wrx similar to what you can get in "work truck" series fleet equipment.
