Ray a quick google search brought me to the Gentex K21 Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror w/Compass and Temp that fits a 2002 WRX

If you have your clock pod empty or have an extra din slot, this might be a viable option as well.

I had totally forgotten about that accessory gauge pack that goes in where the clock is. I came close to actually doing that a few years back, and then changed my mind.

    Great links/ideas. You guys rock.

My WRX came with one. Was this a factory option??? I also just found out that I do have the arm-rest extension too.

Both of my WRX's came with them; I think they're standard fare.

My '06 came with the plain-Jane rear view mirrow, nothing special about it. Maybe they were standard in previous years. Also, I think SubaruGenuineParts.com sells the OEM rear view with the compass for about $180ish. It doesn't have outside or inside temp though.

I'm looking to do an in-dash touchscreen GPS/CD/Radio double-DIN unit soon since I'm afraid of shredding 3rd gear with Stage 2. Hopefully I can find one with Bluetooth. I haven't seen any with a DVD player, 6-disc CD or Bluetooth. All significant things I would pay alot more money for.

The Bluetooth/cellphone connection for the car is priceless, it's so convenient. My friend has it in her TSX, it's awesome.

I've had three cars with them and never realized any problems... Are problems with them, that common?

My first mirror failed, it produced a black puddle in the middle of the mirror surface. Luckily people drive into walls all the time so a second-hand mirror was easy to source, and I expect spares to be readily available again when this one fails.

None here. I test drove a WRX with one and did not like it. The wider mirror blocked too much windshield view (being tall I sit up rather high).

Carpet sounds like a great idea. Anyone know how much?

exactly what mine has done (#2 mirror. #1 mirror did it, and #2 was a junkyard replacement, which has now done it, since my engine blew..)

try taking off your headliner and covering it with a different colorful fabric
I did mine using this fluffy furry sorta like swayed(cant spell) fabric that i bought from a fabric store for around 40 bucks
-took bout 30 minutes to install and it looks nice.... it matches my sti seats =)
-i now drive with 1 hand on the wheel and one hand to shift and rub my headliner

    You paint quite a picture.

I haven't had funds to put into the car, lately, but I'm still itemizing things I want to do.
