    offer your opinion please...

i want to replace all four speakers (02 sedan), headunit, and put in an amp. i like listening to loud music, but i'm not interested in a sub. please offer your opinion on this setup and whether you think the numbers match up right...thanks in advance!

    -Alpine CDA-9885 headunit
-Infinity Kappa 60.7cs 6.5" components (front)
    -Infinity Kappa 52.7i 5.25" 2-ways (rear)
    -Alpine MRP-F550

I'm not sure if that amp is overkill or not...wish I had more experience with car audio, but I'm learnin, haha. Thanks again ya'll...

EDIT: Amp is going to power all four speakers (if that wasn't already apparent).

looks like a great setup. I am a long-time fan of the Kappa series, as well as their Perfects.

looks like a good set up.

you may want to consider the MRV-F345. the sound quality will be better but won't be as much power. you may even be able to adjust the amp from your headunit with the MRV. its 4x75 the kappa's will do well by them.

I don't think you would be unhappy with that set up.

so if i found both the Alpine MRP-F550 and the MRV-F345 for roughly the same price, but the former has more power...is there any advantage for going with the 345??? thanks again for all the suggestions

i have the 9885 head unit in my car, i like ti but i dont think it works prefectly right because i cant fully control my ipod. and its kind of annoying. It has like 200 watts already and i think it sounds good enough and it sounds good loud with the stock speakers. I also have 2 12" subs in the back cause i like a lil extra bass with it.

I think you'll need spacers for aftermarket speakers, kartboy has them. I have an Alpine unit and am very happy with it.

can anyone verify the necessity of kartboy speaker spacers for 6.5's in the front and 5.25's in the rear?

the MRV has improved signal processing and has the capability to be adjusted right from certain alpine headunits...i don't know if the one you want is one of them.

    either, or...both good amps.

I have almost the same exact setup. The infinity kappa's are great. so is the Alpine hu. A sub is always necessary IMO tho
