Hey all. Just wanted to share some pics of my V1 install. I think it is pretty clean. I decided not to go with mounting it up by the rear view mirror. Since my WRX is an 05 it has those sun blocker dots and I didn't want to decrease the effectiveness of the detector. I also wanted it lower so that the detector can see out the rear window. Basically I went with mounting it where the manual says is best.

I wired my V1 to the wiring supplying the clock. I used some snap on wire splices. The clock itself has all four wires labeled (Battery +, Illumination, Ground, and Accessory) so there was no guess work there. All I had to do was peel back some of the electrical tape, make my connections, and re-tape it all up for a clean look. I drilled a hole just large enough to pass the RJ-11 connector for the detector trough it and then set a rubber gromet to provide a clean look as well as prevent the connector from falling back into the dash.Originally Posted by DJSHADOW7
There is plenty of room in the dash around the clock pod to hde wires and such so no problems there. The rubber grommet I used is available at most hardware stores in the electrical sections. Hope this helps. Let me know if there are any specific questions.
This is how you blend the V1 into a Subaru !
And should see my Blinder Installtion !!

One of the coolest things I've ever seen. For some reason I have the Night Rider theme stuck in my head now.

I was going to do a slick stealth install but wasn't sure how you can hide a device that relies on open line of sight for best performance. (I am not knocking the install, I think it is awesome, I am just curious)
I guess it used remote sensors. but +1 on the question ^^^

Each Blinder tranciever is installed with two electric motors with an amplitude of about 25 mm, and they move the blindres up/down behind the bumper/fender.
The hub (interface box) is installed inside the car.
The leds (red and green) you see right side to the V1 dispaly are the led of the blinder and the status led of the system (green for stealth and red for hidden).
This installation has been tested with a laser gun and the coverarge is excellent.
Inside the car you have a toggle switch to activate the system when needed.
I added a master switch using an original fog lights subaru switch.
Here is what you have inside the car.
and the master switch for the system and the Blinder.

can you explain what you mean by blinder? So is it a radar detector, or what?
