on my 05, i used the Factory Boost Gauge Harness located on the Radio Harness.

i used spade connectors to tap into the Ground and 12v. i believe the neg. controls the dimmer.

i hear the clock is a good way to do it to.

I'm pretty sure that they have a good write up of how to install a boost gauge.

Ok, so I'm going to assume that the STis with the factory boost gauge mounted on the column is not good enough? The one ('05 STi) that I'm picking up this Friday has one. I've heard it's too small to read but I have no problem reading or seeing it.

The factory one is fine, as long as you like it/can read it.
