STI seats and installing wrx seat heaters in them?

A buddy of mine with a full STI interior is trading his wrx soon... I am inheriting his "mint condition" seats and door cards for free. One thing is that I am extremely attached to my seat heaters in my 2005 wrx do to my bad lower back. How possible would it be for me to take the heating pads out of my wrx seats and donate them into the STI seats when I get them. Has anyone done this?
