OE STi Pedals

I was wondering if the original equipment STi gas pedals have the little extension on the bottom left of the pedal. I wanted to get the STi pedal set with all 3 pedals and the dead pedal, but I only want those if they replace the existing pedal pads. I dont want them if they simply go over top of them. I ask because I read in another thread that someone was able to simply buy the whole STi gas pedal assembly and do it that way. Anyone have any experience with this stuff? Thanks
