Strage noise from steering wheel.

hey guys...i have found out that a little tapping/ticking noise has been coming from my steering wheel. when the car is off and i giggle the steering wheel i can make the noise. anybody have any clue what the hell this is?

lol thats was a good one. i actuallu thought to myself, "how do i tighten that nut then. i didnt even though there was a nut behind the wheel." then i scrolled down. but seriously is this major that i should have subaru looked at or something?

sure its actually from the steering wheel itself or just something around the wheel?

mine does the same thing and i have no idea what that is. Also when i go over some small bumps and when the wheels are turned i can feel/hear a click from what appears to be front wheel

^ i get the same thing with a slight turn/bump scenario. something jiggles/clunks. i can't figure it out...

no boost gauge here, but it seems a lot of people have this prob.

I have the same thing when I hit a bump or pothole.

Is it coming from the front suspension? I had a clunk in the front when i went over small bumps that was taken away with the addition of Perrin endlinks.

yeah it's comming from there. I think i'm gonna have to get the endlinks or just pull in to the shop and have them check the tire rods, suspention

my noise is coming straight from the steering wheel. i dont think it is from the front end of the car. if the noise increases i will bring it to subaru.

On my '04, the plastic casing right behind the steering wheel - especially on top - would make strange noises and clack around. It sounded like it was coming from the wheel, too. Try tightening any fasteners or bolts back there.

Just a thought.
