    Door Handle Question

I took my driver's side door panel off yesterday to try and fix a noise coming from my speaker. I thought it was a loose wire, but that became the least of my concerns once I was taking the panel off. The friggin door handle and lock fell out of place and I had to try and reconnect the metal rods to the switches to get it to operate again. I finally struggled to put it back together, but now the handle on the inside is a lot stiffer than it used to. It doesn't have a quick release to it anymore when I let go of it. I hate that I ever messed with it, but any ideas as to why its being that way? I was thinking the metal rods might be touching or rubbing, but id hate to take that thing apart again.

I too had this problem. I was having problems with my keyhole falling into my door, so I decided to take of my panel and fix it... When i came to a snag taking the panel off my friend tried to force it off and bent the metal rods.

Hey Jeff, thanks for the offer to help me but I no longer live in Roanoke now. I moved to Jacksonville, FL as of Wednesday of last week. I think the handle has started to get itself back into a groove now and it feels ok now. Keep that STI running fast, although you know id get you off the line

watch out with that door handle cuz it might break. I used to pull off doors all the time, and one of the most common mistakes is not putting the rods in the right place, where there rubbing against one n other or rubbing against somthing in the door. Even if its working fine now you might be wearing somthing out inside the door, i'd pull it and check again.
