i just put my egt gauge in...and i was wondering where its suppose to be at normally?....it goes from i think 3-12(X100)...and mines just staying at 3...sometimes it goes up about 2-3 notches...is that right?...
Depends on where the probe it but that sounds way low.
If you installed an Exhaust Gas Temperature gauge(EGT) than there is a probe that has to be inserted in the exhaust system. It is recommended that it be installed as close to the exhaust ports on the head as possible preferrably by the #4 cylinder(the hottest). This will give you an accurate reading and good response on your readings.
