    autometer tach hookup

I'm trying to install an autometer tach in my 05 STi and I don't know where to hookup the wire that goes to the ignition. I'm used to working on small block chevys so I dont have a clue.

first a question for ya is why? second is that I belive autometer makes a DIS (Distributorless Ignition System) interface box that can run the tach. it might be possible to hook it up some other way but I dont know.

I'll take that nice STi cluster you have if you're not going to use it.

I've had my tach since day one. It's wired to my ECU.
But does not read perfect. Before you plug it into your
ECU, decide if you really want it. I read fine from 0-3000 RPM, but
slowly deviates. You can still calibrate it for REDline Light.

    this is how

Go to you ecu under the pasengers floor. Remove the protection plate. The ecu has many portals. Got to the second one from the bottom. The green tach. control is in c9, this is in the third row, second one to the left. It is green. Splice it and wire into it and you will be set.

will there be pictures of the tach when it is installed?

and yeah i know it is hard to keep track of the rpm when you have that big red tach in the middle of the cluster with that annoying shift light and buzzer.

    good luck on the install

You can get a pix of my install at:

    http://www.geocities.com/meejhaam/cars.html

just scroll down and you will see it. If the webpage is not working, it's because
I have passed my visitor limit for geocities. Suck to have a limit. I'm looking
to move my page somewhere else.

its not too bad i guess, but all cops gotta do is look over and see it to harass you.

Im just gonna build a LED shiftlight cluster for my UTEC and hide it in the vents in the dash so its descreet.
