The WRX is not an easy car to drive stick. I wouldn't suggest starting in it.

Seeing how this thread is close to a year old, the original poster probably already knows how to drive one.

    Let this thread die.

Same here! My WRX is my first manual! Then again, I had my license for 6 years first. Just find someone with a lot of patience to teach you, and it's probably best to learn on a beater car (and not your bf's vette because he'll get mad when you grind the gears while downshifting!).

Edit: This thread is over a year old?!?!? You bastards!

I learned on a souped wrx that I got before turning 16...my first car...very easy indeed...took about 4 or 5 days and then I was very comfortable and used to it...became totally second nature...don't worry it's still perfect...knock on wood lol

first manual i ever drove was the '05 WRX that i got for Christmas. Took about a week altogether to get it down. Haven't really driven any other manuals, besides test driving this BMW 323 for about 2 min total before my mom started screaming (this was before i learned on my WRX)

You need to ask a few questions about manuel before trying to drive 'um. It's not really something you want to jump in to before knowing whats going on.
This thread is all about that.

You drive Manuel to the auto parts store so he can pick up Hose A and Hose B and then you and your other friend, Ben Dayho go work on the WRX!

I drove Manuel to Burrito Express on Sunday to get some Menudo. Yummy! My buddy Juan Brito likes it too.
