which intake should I buy
This is a discussion on just an idea within the Improving ClubWRX.net forums, part of the News and Announcements category; okay, the repeat questions per day is getting out of hand in my opinion. literally the same exact questions getting ...
okay, the repeat questions per day is getting out of hand in my opinion. literally the same exact questions getting asked within hours of eachother
i know we have the big BOV thread, and any BOV question gets merged in there.
maybe we can have the big exhaust thread?
the big intake thread?
the big suspension thread?
and have them all stickied..
it just seems like these questions are SO common and can be found within 2 seconds of searching.
i noticed teflon jones go on a rant yesterday with some guy for asking the same question 80 times and not searching, so i know i'm not the only one thats getting slightly annoyed
just thought i'd throw this out there!

Why don't we just close all the forums and teh Club will exist as a reference source only?
It's a forum. It is here for people to ask questions. I know it annoys you. It is, indeed, annoying. Just try to ignore it.
it'd really be pointless, IMO. As seen with the BOV thread; it doesn't stop the questions, only gives us a repository for all the singled questions.

+1 The people that ask the question are people who don't attempt to research anything by searching. There for no matter how many intake bov etc threads there are these people will still be clicking the new thread button first.
It's irritating but then again it is a public forum and you don't have to read the threads.
yes but i'm saying it would be more organized and easy to find if there was one big thread stickied at the top of the forums

That will not work...and IMHO it would cut down on the function part of the forum.
Merging the BOV threads is a pain at times....I couldnt imagine merging the exhaust threads. Sure there isnt a ton of new info coming out about TBE's these days but the questions do sometime vary.
It's part of the forum and people have been doing it for a long time. The people who do search will usually find their answer or bump an older thread. The ones who dont are going to post a new one.
Nothing can be done about this...it's not your bandwidth to worry about. Honestly the only semi "fix" to the issue is to institue a policy stating you have to have 4-5 post's before starting a new thread. This IMHO will turn "off" alot of new members.

ok... i dont get why the responses in this thread were all kind of snobby.
"Improving ClubWRX.net How can we improve ClubWRX.net? How can you contribute to ClubWRX.net? Let's hear some suggestions!"
thats all i was simply doing... making a suggestion.

I didnt find anything any more or less "snobby" then some of thepost that certain people have been making in tech thread forums recently.
It's the internet...dont take it personal. Some people take 2-3 lines to state their thoughts instead of writing a novel out so they dont "offend" the reader.

Many of the threads we're talking about are revealed by their thread title. Be thankful that you have the option to ignore it and move on to a more interesting-sounding thread. Mods HAVE to read them.
I've never really identified with the "do a search n00b" mentality. I'll point out to a new person that this topic has been covered a bunch, but there's no hostility behind it; just letting them know that a wealth of info is readily available.
Some of these people are not just new to our forum, or to Subaru's...many of them are new to forums, period. It's presumptuous to assume that they automatically know about searching, or about what keywords will yield the best results.

+1
Going into a thread and seeing people complain about the thread being answered many times bothers me a little bit. Yes, there's a ton of information available, and a search would probably answer all their questions (and then some), but people come to the forums to get advice.
If I'm the first person to get to a repeat thread (e.g., which exhaust, which intake, etc.), I'll usually link them to the Unabombers Manifesto, which is basically the bible for modifying Subarus.
