    quck brake question

here it is: 04 5mt sedan, 30k miles as of yesterday- 15-20k are highway miles

Getting my 30k service from my mechanic on saturday (I hate dealers so he does all my stuff)

How long do you guys think I have left on the pads/rotors?

also how long do the stock craptenza re92's usually last? - I can't wait until mine go bald - no sense in buying rims and tires before then though - thanks guys

Brake wear usually depends on the driving style. I've seen cars last 10k on stock pads to 75k+. The only way to tell how much time is left on your brakes is by looking at them. Tire wear will depend on driving style, alignment, and the surfaces you normally drive on.

Yep, totally dependent on driving habits. My stock tires and pads lasted less than 10k.

when i did my 30K i still had about 50% left on my front pads; my cars got mostly highway miles and has yet to see any agressive driving.

Better brake pads and tires are two of the easiest and most productive mods you can do. Don't wait for them to wear out, get some good ones now!

My RE92's lasted about 1,000 miles by which time I realized they really do SUCK and got new tires ! Best thing I ever did.

i got 22k on my stock brake pads. and i went with ebc rotors and ebc green stuff pads ,and i stop great. my only complaint with the ebc rotors is a constant shhh shhh shhh shh shhh when driving. other than that though they stop awsome. as for rims and tires i got 17" buddy clubs and continental extreme contact tires. the rims are like 15-16 pounds ea. the tires are about 2000lbs ea. i will not buy them again they are way to heavy. they handle good on dry road ,and just as good in the rain. just my .02
