the green cap is (i'm pretty sure) 10W-30 (May be 5W-40, but I don't think so)... It has nothing to do with new car/old car.

All that stuff on the bottle about new car, old car, etc etc is just marketing.

6500 miles is an old car?

I seem to remember one of the oil companies advertising "old car" oil meaning >75,000 miles. I would say you can use that M1 5W-30 as long as you have your car. Ditto on the marketing comment.

+1, blue cap 5W-30 is fine for any mileage, regardless of what the jug says.
