P1 is a Prodrive limited edition WRX sold in the UK.
Just beat the hell out of your clutch and replace it with a triple plate from Godspeed.

sorry for the late reply, but i finally got my car back from the dealership with my new clutch and flywheel. My clutch shudder is gone and the car drives really smooth now. One thing did piss me off though was one of the service men who worked there. He told me if the clutch messes up again ill be paying for it next time.

    Cold Clutch Shutter on WRX

I have experienced the phenomenon known as the "Cold Clutch Shutter". My clutch shuttered only when the car was cold. I took this to my dealer. They informed me that Subaru issued a service bulletin on this very problem in the May 2003 timeframe. Bottom line is the dealer replaced my clutch at no cost under the powertrain warranty. The service bulletin authorizes the dealerships to replace the clutch on certain VIN #s for WRX models in 2002 - 2003 model years.

If you are experiencing this problem tell your dealer service manager that you are experiencing the Cold Clutch Shutter problem. That is the label which Subaru gave to this problem on it's Service Bulletin. This is not a recall, but if you are persistent then your dealer will probably install a new clutch in your WRX.

My new clutch works like a charm. The problem was eliminated.

Good luck in getting your clutch problems resolved to your satisfaction!
