    breaking in engine

    hey guys, i had accident and had to replace cylinder heads and valves. I was just wondering... do i need to break in my car for another 1k miles?? cause that would suck thanks

    Wouldn't suck as much as having to replace the top end again...

    Break-in is usually a matter of seating the rings. You really shouldn't have to break-in heads. Either they work, or they don't.

    i might be looking at the same problem my car is burning oil and has to go into the shop, may i ask why you had your replaced?thanks!

    aight thanks guys. and yes, for the first 1500 miles i didn't go over 3k rpm. It sucked. I think i will break it in for like 250 miles though. and i got it worked on at gerald subaru in naperville.
