missed the 30,000 mile check up

I just bought a new 02 wrx from the dealer and it had like 37,000 mille check up .....I think most likely that the person that sold the car to the dealer did not do the 30,000 mile checkup since they were about to sell the car anyway. I'm wondering if i should get the 30,000 mile check up done or ...if there's any other cheaper alternatives to check out all of the points that the checkup does. I also have bumper-to-bumper warranty on it so if anything goes wrong then wouldn't the warranty cover it? thanks for any advice

I had my 30K check-up performed by Precision Tuning in NJ (which doesn't look like an option to you). Here is what they performed to give you an idea of what was changed/refreshed:

    Ait filter replacement
    Coolant Flush/Replaced
    Oil Change (duh!)
    Transmission Fluid change
    Rear Diff Fluid change
    Brake fluid flush/change

    Above this you might want:

    New Brake pads
Stainless Brake lines while changing the fluid

I recommend Royal Purple for both the Transmission and the Rear Diff
Mobil 1 (if you like) for the crank
and Motul for the brake fluid

    good luck!

A 30k service at the dealer will run you >$400. Be careful relying on the warranty: the fine print often specifies that the routine service schedule be followed. Otherwise they just say " can't fix it; it broke 'cos you didn't service it"
