Angry So I come back from Vegas...

...and my brakes are vibrating like crazy, especially when I had to brake coming down from about 75 to 5 when I hit traffic on the Cajon Pass...

I have aftermarket rims and tires, springs, etc...

can my rotors be resurfaced under warranty or am I going to get a warranty ? Because I am pretty sure that the vibration is from brake pad deposits on the rotor by remaining on the brakes after a long stop (i.e. offramp hill with cars behind me).

well my 1st instinct says ur warranty isn't going to help, but then again u didn't alter the breaks so it should be in tact. regardless, it's a prime time to upgrade the breaks. some slotted rotors and what not, muhahaah

but just take it in and give it a shot ya know. or take the rotor off and bring it to a local shop and have them resurface it and put it back on urself.

So why did you remain on the brakes too long after a long stop? Don't you know what your right hand is for?

yeah that would have been the prudent idea at the time...didn't think it would be an issue because I wasn't braking "hard" nor was it very hot outside (I was driving at night).

    Look here: http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/...otors_myth.htm
Perhaps their upgraded pad fix would work, otherwise it's a visit to the grinder.

hmmm..well i have an appointment with Subaru on Monday, we'll see what they have to say about it. Although driving to San Diego last night, the condition seems to have eased up a bit, i think that a lot of the vibration that i was feeling may have been due to the roads that I was on, although the brakes still feel kind of inconsistent...

    Talking

well, Frank's Irvine simply re-surfaced the rotors (under warranty) and now all of the vibration seems to be gone.

well they asked if i had any brake mods...so they wouldn't have fixed a set of stoptechs or anything...nor would I have expected them to. But, they were reasonable enough not to get into a hissy fit about my exhaust or something unrelated like that.
