    Dashboard rattle

Hey - I just got my 05 WRX sedan and I don't think I can make it through the break in period. There's a rattle going on behind the cluster or the underpanel that's driving me insane. I don't want to take it to the dealership because the guys have been hit and miss on being helpful - but I can't take the rattle sound anymore.

I've held down most of the outside components - and it's still there. Really only rattles when I go over bumps. Is there something that usually rattles or am I just going to have to go to the dealer with this one.

You can try this: Silencing the VIN Plate / Defroster Panel rattle but rattles are part of the subaru owning experience and they will only get worse with time...however you will get more comfortable with the rattle. Maybe try a louder exhaust?

Ah, the dashboard rattle. At first I thought I had an exception to the rule. Nah, it just started more a few weeks ago at about 6,000 miles. The high-speed washboard dirt roads seemed to have played a role haha. The plastic case thing behind the steering wheel is also starting to rattle - I may attack that with some foam.

Right now though I think louder exhaust is the best way to cope!
