    Sorry for the late response!

Yep, independent. Lots of 'em. With a bunch of old Subarus in the yard.

Very off topic, the whole "westside" thing reminds me of that scene in ALIGINDAHOUSE where they are all like, "east side is the best" "Westside is the best."

Didn't mean to crap on the tread but it was there! I couldn't hold back lol.

Most likely, it basically is a more intelligent transfer case anyways.

And it's the same fluid as the transmission and front diff since they all sit in the same housing. Unless it's an autmatic, in which case there's separate fluid for the front diff and tranny.

Sup dude, and nope, there's a center viscous coupling in the WRX, or DCCD in the STi, LSD front diff in the STi, open on the front in the WRX, transmission gears, of course, and the rear diffs on both. Total of 3 diffs.

I think your supposed to have the timing belt inspected and a power steering flush as well.

As for the whole debate about east vs west... does Texas count as central??? lol anyways, I've had mixed results with non-Subbie mechanics.... if you find a good one then great, if not you can end up spending more money chasing wrong problems. If the dealership is expensive, at least you'll know the work is done right.

Hi... we don't have center differential fluid... K.. thnx... bye.

(The transmission fluid is shared between the tranny, front, and center diffs)
