how to purge gas tank? need advice

Hi. I need to purge my gas tank and I was wondering what the best way to do it is. I was thinking possibly disconnecting the fuel line after the pump and hooking the pump to a battery to make it run constantly and pump the tank dry, but I have no clue on how to do that or where to start. I really dont want to siphon it cause im not very good at it and i want a more thorough purge. major/time consuming work is out of the question cause ill only have 2-3 hours max to do it. Thanks.

Well thats quite a pressure cooker youve got going there, one of the "I have a big job but not too much time to do it in" variety. But you may be in luck. There are two drain plugs for the gas tank, located on either side of the drive shaft, just in front of the rear dif. Open em up and out comes the fuel, then tighten back down to 19.2 ft-lbs.
