Perrin Filter Cleaner

Stupid question, but does anyone know of a cleaner for these Perrin foam filters. I haven't seen any online, so I don't know if there even is one. Mine isn't dirty yet, but sooner or later it will be.

The filter is meant to be cleaned with soap and water, and should only be cleaned as needed...

Normal K&N filter oil or any ITG filter oil will work. I also believe that if you contact Perrin when you go to clean the filter they will be happy to send you some of the original oil that they use originally.

a guy at www.tdiclub.com sells a special oil for the ITG filter which is tackier, so less oil gets into the MAF

No, I havent even reached the 7k mile mark. And I'm still not sure how many miles/months "when it needs it" might be. I am curious how I m supposed to dry the filter. With the plastic cage on over the filter will make it hard to ring it dry. And it was mentioned that it isn't advisable to remove the plastic cage.

I'm thinking a dishwashing liquid might do wonders to get the dirty oil out.

I m curious about the long term effects of the oil getting on the MAF. Thoughts any one? I have been thinking of putting my subie filter box back on.

Can I use the K&N recharge kit to clean the perrin intake? Is it the same as the Uni one? Thanks.
