    Tranny Issue

I have some concern with my shifter. When I start the car and shift to reverse, the shifter is a little reluctant and makes a sound as if I'm grinding the gears. I always step on the clutch all the way down, so I know it's not that. Anyone else have this problem or might know of what it is.

Mine does that a little too. Try starting it, then letting the car idle with the cluth out for a few seconds. This gets all the gears and oil moving around and it seems easier to get into reverse.

Reverse has no syncro, even when you depress the clutch, the tranny is still turning for a few seconds under its own momentum. The gears then clash. I usually pop mine into first before shifting to reverse, to stop the tranny gears. Works like a charm for me. Next thing is to check clutch adjustment.

Perfectly said by Lance. To combat this, I just do about the same and pop it in 4th and then R. ALWAYS works on the first try.

It's unfortunately "par for the course" with our fine automobiles.

I dont think there is a std out there that does not do the same thing. Some are worse then others. I have owned two Mustangs, camaro, prelude, RX7, a couple of celicas that were all standard and they all did it more or less.
