    big probs with my 02 wrx

    Hey all, ive got into a bit of trouble with my rex its a 02 an just got it off the scan tool and was told it was the air flow meter... ive replaced the air flow meter but the engine light stays on an the car still stalls an doesnt hit boost properly, do i need to reset the computer with the new air flow meter??? can anyone help .. also is this the cause for it using heaps of fuel????

    A possible relash may be needed. Im new to the whole subaru world but with hondas when extra fuel is dumped it has to do with the ECU.
    Anyways that is my theory. Anyone else have anyother info to help him? Gl with ya man and hope all goes well

    is the car starting and running or cutting off after u start it ?

    Hey yeah it starts an runs 4 a bit with no boost an stalls on its own at idle an trys to stall when driving...

    make sure the maf is seated properly and in the right way
    then if this dosent help disconnect the neg bat terminal and step on the brake a few times and replace the neg bat terminal and see if that helps

    Done that its all in ok..... disconnected the batt nope no change, sorry is the maf the air flow meter?.. subaru told me that my k&n filter caused the prob so i replaced that aswell...

    yeah maf is mass air flow sensor/meter

    ur car might be going into limp mode

    what r u mods ?
    did u check all of ur boost lines ?

    yeah all boost lines ok..

    used to have a boost control hooked up only runnin 13psi tho,.. my dip **** mate disconnected n blocked the hose off the stock bov to make the woosh sound... but i put it all back to stock today stil runs like a peice of **** wats limp mode???

    when the car dosent go over 3k rpm to protect it self from self destruction

    Turned out to be the fuel pump making it stall it was losein pressure now an again causin it to stall.......

    yep changed the pump but 2 my surprise it still stalls and throws up the code P1230 which is fuel pump control unit, iam on my way to replace it an ill let u all know wat happens next

    well i own a lemon i replaced the fuel pump control an it still stalls keeps dropin fuel pressure
