    Need help

Yesterday a friend of mine called and said he was trying to jump start his car. When he applied the cables to the second car his horn blew and now almost everything quit working. His doors will still lock, dome light works, and that's about it. The odometer is blank, the car won't turn over, the keyless entry won't work, etc....

I assumed he put the jumper cables on backwrds but he assured me he put them on correctly. Now assuming I am right, do you think it fried the ECU or just a fuse?

I would check the fuses first. That is easy to do and easy to fix if that's it.

theres a fuseable link in the engine compartment fuse box..prob the problem..its a black "wire" thats ussually what goes and causes such issues..u can use a jumper wire to touch each side and complete the circuit ..if that works replace the fuseable link..DO NOT just leave the jumper wire and call it a day unless your not fond of your ecm and electrical components

I went and looked at it myself last night. The horn works, the parking lights and brake lights work other than that it is dead. I checked the ECU plugs and there is no power to any of the wires.

I did not look at the fuseable link and I am not 100% sure where it's at. Can anyone show me a pic?
