How loud is the knocking? Does it even occur when idling? Does it rise and fall with RPMs?

    Let me get this straight.

1: You spent a good amount of money installing a 2.5 short block
2: You cheaped out and didn't get it tuned.
3: You think you're running rich because you have a turbo back?

You installed a block that has more ability to burn fuel, and you're using stock fueling. My guess is that you're running dangerously lean, and you've destroyed yet another motor.

I kid you not this is atleast the 2nd case on this forum I have heard (or atleast remember) of someone doing this.

I dont understand what people are thinking. It is very likely that the 2.5 has a higher compression ratio and depending on what HG you use can really play with things.

I'd start looking for a new shortblock, good thing they are only like 1800 bucks.

Saved me the trouble of typing it. Seriously, 2.5 block with 2.0l fueling?? The stock 06 2.5l with td04 is running 575cc injectors. To think you are running rich with a TBE is shear lunacy my friend.

    Are you serious?

I'd find someone else to do installs/tunes.
